Khashoggi Killing: Brunson Deal & Prelude for Salman’s Dethroning

It seems that Jamal Khashoggi’s entry through the gates of the Saudi consulate in Istanbul has conjured the exit of Pastor Andrew Brunson through the window; the blood of Jamal Khashoggi was used to unclog the US-Turkish security conduit which had been blocked for some time.  The reports that have been released on the victim Jamal Khashoggi and the method of his assassination confirmed that Turkish and US intelligence services had been aware of Saudi’s intentions towards him. America has noticeably been working towards isolating the Saudi regime in preparation for generating a change by toppling Salman and his son once they have been exhausted and ensnared in this issue. This narrative is heightened by Qatar’s instrumental efforts to amplify the case and the international reaction and rub salt into the Saudi wounds through Aljazeera. All this came after America had steered bin Salman towards destroying the cornerstones of his throne, namely the Aal Saud clan, the religious institution and the economy.

The issue of Jamal Khashoggi is political rather than criminal; America probably exploited the desire of Salman and his son to get rid of Jamal Khashoggi since he had evidence about the role of the king and his son in backing the Jihadist groups and encouraged bin Salman to kill him in order to embroil Saudi in this cul-de-sac and exploit it to serve its interests. As for Jamal Khashoggi, he was but a cheap tool in the hands of his killers.
