Ramadhan Reflections #11

And let there arise from amongst you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Khayr), enjoying what is right (Ma’ruf) and forbidding what is wrong (Munkar).”

TMQ: Surah Al-E-Imran, 3:104

In this Verse, Allah (ﷻ) commands the existence of a group from within the Ummah that invites to Islam in its totality, commanding the good that has been commanded by Allah (ﷻ) and forbidding the evil which has been prohibited by Allah (ﷻ).

Inviting to the good, enjoining the right and forbidding the evil as a collective group is a political action and therefore the existence of a poltical group built upon the Islamic Aqeedah is obligatory and guarantees the implementation of Islam. In the absence of Islam from state and society, the group works for the resumption of the Islamic way of life in its entirety. Once Islam’s implementation is resumed it challenges and accounts the Islamic ruler (Khalifah) on behalf of the Ummah.

The group cannot succeed without the Ummah, and likewise the Ummah cannot succeed without the group. In its absence the duty upon the shoulders of the Ummah is to establish a political group. In the presence of the group the role of the Ummah is to work alongside it until Islam is resumed by the establishment of the Khilafah State, and then to account the Khalifah (ruler) through it.

The kufaar will keep spilling our blood, stealing our resources, splitting our lands upon sectarian grounds and push for democracy and capitalism to reign supreme over the Deen of Allah (ﷻ) until we fulfil our duty of resuming Islam under the leadership of the correct political structure. As Muslims living in a time where the Islamic system is absent, we must hasten towards performing our duty to rescue ourselves from the current state of affairs.

O you who believe, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when He calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered.”

TMQ: Surah Al-‘Anfāl, 8:24
