Armenia Attack on Azerbaijan Targets Turkey

Russia was behind Armenia’s attack on Azerbaijan in order to open a new front for Turkey, whose strategic interests are directly threatened, to weaken its position in Libya. Russia is looking to pressurise Turkey to halt its efforts to liberate Sirte and al-Jufra from the US agent and criminal warlord Haftar via the GNA, hoping for an agreement which allows Sirte to fall in exchange for al-Jufra.

America is hoping for a direct confrontation between Turkey and Russia in Libya and Sisi’s declaration of readiness to deploy Egyptian forces to support Haftar to prevent Sirte and Jufra falling to the GNA was designed by the US to embolden and encourage Russia to stand firm on Jufra and Sirte to make the confrontation more probable.

Russia is aware of the US’s plan and wants to avoid a direct confrontation which would reverse the gains that Russia made by drawing close to the NATO member, selling it the S400 defence systems and push Turkey back towards the US. So Russia is likely to pressurise Turkey indirectly from behind Egypt to keep al-Jufra. In the absence of a deal, direct confrontation is unlikely but war by proxy between Russia and Turkey is likely.

US and Russia are both equal in their enmity towards Muslims and Islam and any kind of joint venture or partnership with either is suicidal. Any sincere Islamic leadership can only rely on the vast Islamic Ummah alone according to the Islamic requirements of assuming leadership over the whole of it under the banner of Islam, and mobilising it to strengthen Islam on the international stage. Taking the disbeliever states as intimates can only result in destruction.

“O you who have believed, do not take as intimates those other than yourselves, for they will not spare you [any] ruin. They wish you would have hardship. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater. We have certainly made clear to you the signs, if you will use reason.”
[Surah Al-Imran, 3:118]
